Learning German in a welcome class

Welcome classes are study groups for children who can’t speak German.

The primary school at Barbarossaplatz is a school with around 300 children. In all regular classes children with and without special educational needs learn together.

We have a class for children who are new to Germany and have little or no knowledge of German. In that class the children learn German intensively. As soon as these pupils have learned enough German they will be moved to a regular class.
